The COVID-19 pandemic has presented arguably the most significant economic shock in over 100 years. Mitigating economic damage while protecting the health of citizens requires entirely new economic thinking. At the Faculty of Economics at Cambridge, research continues to address these important global challenges. Organised by Dr Meredith Crowley and led by Cambridge-INET, the Cambridge-INET COVID Economics Webinar Series presents a public lecture series for Cambridge Alumni and guests.
The first webinar, Mitigating Macroeconomic Meltdown, will take place on Friday 15 May at 13:00 (London). Professor Vasco Carvalho will examine the COVID crisis through the lens of 1.4 billion transactions, and Professor Giancarlo Corsetti who will look at how mandated social isolation policies can help mitigate the decline in overall economic activity.
Thirty minutes of formal presentation will be followed by twenty minutes of questions and answers from participants.
All registrants for the opening webinar on 15th May will be automatically enrolled in the full series. It is not necessary to sign up for each individual lecture in Eventbrite.
